I just think Minnesota can be too cold. Temperature should not read in single digits for more than a few hours. That should be a law.
Possessor of probably the greatest indigenous mind in the 20th century, Vine Deloria, Jr. passed away just this past Sunday. I am so sad. The world has lost a true intellectual and amazing activist. I had the chance to meet him just last December in Palm Springs, CA. He was kind, witty, articulate, and brilliant.
If you’ve never read anything by Deloria, you are missing out. Check out these websites for more information:

And here is an article about his passing in the NY Times:
Neal was just hired as a reference librarian at William Mitchell College of Law. This means we get to move away from Los Angeles! Praise the Lord(ess)! I will stay in my current position and work from the St. Paul office.
I’m very excited to report that I’m headed to India next month (if I can get a visa in time.) My friend Andy arranged for a scholarship to attend the 10th International Women and Health Meeting (http://www.10iwhmindia.org/) in Delhi from September 21-25. This will be my first trip to Asia. Can’t wait!
Today my friend David invented a new word: Assininity. Isn’t that great?
This month, I have been in Alaska and Oregon. Before the end of the month, I will be in Washington, Ohio, and Alaska again! Over the summer, I’ll probably be traveling every week. I am very tired of living out of suitcases.
Today was a weird day.
